Group Publisher

Canada Wide Media Limited, the leading magazine publishing and online media company in the West, is looking for an energetic and passionate senior leader as Group Publisher for three of its consumer magazines and related digital products. The Group Publisher will lead a high caliber team and drive the continued growth of the business.

The right individual is a broadly skilled manager, with superior strategic business development and relationship building skills. Direct experience in developing or introducing new business opportunities and ideas would be of particular value.

The ideal candidate will have experience in building paid circulation and a good understanding of consumer driven magazine titles.

The publisher oversees the business operation of the magazine and the related digital products and is responsible for the health and growth of the brand.

In this position responsibilities will include:

• Overall P & L accountability of the titles
• Managing budgets
• Responsible for defining the long term vision and goals for the growth and development of the brand
• Working with the Circulation and Advertising Directors to develop strategies for growth
• Drive revenue growth by planning new and innovative products that inform and connect the audience
• Initiate and foster deep relationships with key industry decision makers and strategic partners
• Overseeing the production, design and editorial process to ensure that the titles retain their quality and continue to meet reader’s expectations
• Developing online strategies for the three titles
• Building the profile of the titles through trade shows and other means
• Identifying ancillary business opportunities and develop business plans accordingly
• Networking and keeping abreast of latest trends in industry, participate in industry events and gain market and customer intelligence and serve as an ambassador to the industry
• Delivering results
